Genuine love seeks not its own benefit, but the best for the object of love, the other person. Memorial Day Reflections

As we come to this day to take stock of our history, of the price of freedom, we as true Americans can never take lightly the somber, serious reflections with respect to the cost of liberty. Many have willingly sacrificed themselves to protect our freedoms, not a few who have given the ultimate through death that others might live under the liberties for which our nation has historically stood. These dedicated Americans understood that their lives could be worth little apart from the freedoms granted under our form of government. They cared more for our nation and their families and friends than they cared for existing apart from that security they could provide for their families and friends through their own required sacrifices.

The least we can do this day is to revere their memory by giving thanks to Almighty God for such gallant and unselfish men and women who cared more about us and our nation than they did for themselves.

Many have died to secure our liberties, but they are never forgotten! The threat to our nation during our generation perhaps has been driven home to us by terror more than any other single event or issue. Yet, we must draw the line in the sand and defy all efforts to destroy us by binding ourselves in a united resolve under God.

Happy Thanksgiving Day

While it is true that every day should be Thanksgiving Day, the special day set aside to reflect upon the blessings of the year should tie all other thanksgiving days of the year together. May we enjoy the bounty but never take the supply for granted.

It should be a time to reflect upon the less fortunate and seek opportunities to meet their needs.

Christmas Greetings

We celebrate the holiday season with traditional or generic preferences. Those who prefer to rely upon the non-offensive, all-inclusive and politically correct generic approach to the holidays accomplish what they purport to despise. They become an offense by the slur toward what, based upon its origin, the Christmas holiday actually means.

Often, such non-confrontational efforts reflect a bias grounded in the erroneous separation of church and state court-invented dichotomy in an effort to insulate religion from any influence upon government. Such flawed arbitration can find no justification whatsoever within the Constitution of the United States.

For those of us who advocate absolute religious liberty within our nation, we

To Everyone:

This is the season to be merry, neither by virtue of what we have nor by virtue of what we receive, but by what we are in our hearts when we see God and when we follow Him through giving ourselves and sharing what we have. The Greatest Giver of all entered into human experiences some two thousand years ago to create something new under the sun, something really novel for human hope, a divine Revelation: God is love, and His love can be measured only in the sacrificial giving reflected in the Crucifixion.

May we consider the reality that the Resurrection, the restoration of life with its magnificent novelty, the bubbling joy of a new day, a new opportunity, a new, glowing hope punctuated by faith, could only come through the ultimate sacrifice, by way of the Cross. For this reason, death can be only a means, a door leading to peace and life. Christ is the Way, the Truth and the Life. Therefore, when we die to that which embellishes us, that which would sacrifice others that we might meet our whims and shallow pleasures, when we willingly go out of our way to the degree sometimes to suffer loss and bear great pain that someone else might find hope, when we are so emerged in bringing joy to others that we lose consciousness of self and focus on others, then we have come to our resurrection, to life through death. We have walked with Christ.

Therefore, the Child born under adverse and lowly circumstances comes to a shinning birth within us, and we hear the angelic host proclaiming His Reality throughout the ages, His peace to reign supremely through us, echoing endlessly within the corridors of our deepest consciousness.

Hallelujah, death no longer grips us in its chilling tentacles! As Christ is now alive forevermore, so shall we live! Christmas remains a celebration of that endless novelty, a new day filled with wonder and anticipation every day. We die to live and we live to conquer death because of Christmas and the meaning revealed through the Life, Death and Resurrection of our glorious Lord.

Merry Christmas again!

Notwithstanding, we move in a direction, ever growing, ever enamored and learning, ever expanding our horizons and encountering the reality enlightening the human soul. Such a journey attests to much more than mere observations, more than meditations, more than speculations, more than just an adventure. Certainly, these elements may well be a reflection of the journey in part, but ultimately, we shall discover that Reality can be no less than God Himself! We believe that all of us can come to the dynamic conclusion that in Him all things consist (are held together with His meaning and purpose). --Colossians 1:16-17
