THE RAMIFICATIONS OF EVIL--Continued

Racism and/or Caste System, etc.

As creatures of habit, we find ourselves most often disposed to fall back upon that which provides something of a safety zone, a place where we need not explain ourselves, need not venture into risks, need not encumber ourselves with anything more than we desire to tackle.  Quite true, many of us would linger at this level indefinitely if we were never prodded to form relationships with others which can open us up to critical scrutiny or create in us a sense of vulnerability.  And in spite of this risk we all do feel a need to form bonds with other personalities, for these experiences with others from early in life on throughout mature years initiate a defining process, a process by which we form self-images and develop loving relationships and/or defensive shields, sometimes expressed through bitterness and hostilities.

Within this ensuing bonding and/or conflicts we often develop the mindset of you-against-us and we-against-you competitive stance. This perspective can grow far beyond friendly jabbing in a playful manner or teasing all the way to establishing territories with downright hostile resort.

This you-against-us and we-against-you cultivation has erupted into vicious dispositions of racism and class-ism (which often gives rise to the formal caste system).

Yet, the basic center upon which racism and the cast system pivot originated within the Garden of Eden and became a whisper from the serpent to Eve and through Eve to Adam (Genesis, chapter 3), “If you partake of the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, you will have your eyes opened to become as God, to know good and evil for yourself.”  In other words, Eve would become her own god, knowing what is good and what is bad from her own perspective and would no longer have to rely on God for anything!  She would establish independence from the God Who gave her existence and life.

Ever since that original fall, each human person has been born into the world as the center of all things from his perspective.  Consequently, each and every person quite naturally gravitates toward assessing the whole realm of life from a single vantage point, that of self.  Each fallen person tends to make every other person and all events to fit into his own circumference of existence, his interests and desires, his goals and values, etc.  Such a perspective grows so naturally as often to elude any awareness of its presence.

Thus, from the very outset all elements leading toward prejudice, racism and the caste system found root in the declared independence from the One, True God.  In that rebellion which we call original sin came a break from ultimate reality and a birth of all the individualized cells of bondage and darkness plaguing all humankind.  The God Who provided the genuine basis for union through Truth has been rejected by the god of self, that god who created separation, distortion, perversion and captivity leading toward conflict and destruction.  Wars, terror, repressions, ignorance, hatred, suffering and death took up prominent residence among the whole human race.

Observations:  Hence, the backdrop for the expressions of racism and the development of the caste system only serves to help us understand all too well just how natural fallen human tendencies lend themselves to these expressions.  Just as Adam and Eve supplanted the God of the universe with the god of self, and this concept gave rise to the notion that this self-centeredness embraced the reason for existence and the reason for existence had to be the total springboard for action, this disposition made all others servants to whatever degree possible, such that other people and things had to be used or sacrificed to enhance our own existence.

However, within the course of conflicts wrought through opposition to other people’s efforts to manipulate, dominate or otherwise deceive us, we in turn often develop strategies  toward fitting or forcing others into orbit around ourselves and our interests.  Moreover, we often tend to resort to suppressive measures to counter hostile intent by others.  Consequently, If we cannot cause individual persons to submit to our concepts of superiority over them, we can look for racial or social status differences in them from that within ourselves and use those differences in an attempt to make stepping stones to forge ourselves above them.  Hence, we have arrived at racism or sometimes a practical or real caste system.

A corresponding angle comes into play which tends to boost our movement up the ladder of recognition and success.  Our resort to embellishing ourselves by comparing racial differences within ourselves which makes us feel more desirable than those we consider to belong to a different and inferior race gives us identity with other members of our own race who share the same disposition as we do.  Therefore, we feed our egos with our identity with others of our own race or our own social group who share our distorted passion.  Such outbursts of sneering as “We white people keep our distances from those Negroes (and/or Indians, Orientals, Mexicans, etc.)” can create a sick sense of bonding in our cause for which to rally and to fight against the cause of those we oppose.  The same kind of identity can also take place with respect to accentuating differences in social status between us and others we consider to be beneath our social status.  Truly, it boils down to this you-against-us and we-against-you syndrome!

This mindset regarding others to be beneath us in value has been addressed time and again throughout the Holy Bible.  As for example, God called Abram (who later became known as Abraham, because he would become the father of a great nation) and God promised to bless him and bless that nation of people he would father (Genesis 11:2).  This promise later gave the descendents of Abraham an opportunity to take pride in themselves because God chose them as His own people.  This fact gave many of the Hebrews a feeling of great pride such that they considered themselves better than everyone else.  However, these same prideful people ignored the very next verse in Genesis (Genesis 11:3).  God’s purpose for choosing Israel had been to make them a priestly nation so that all peoples of the world could receive God’s blessings.  God intended that His Revelation be exported to all people everywhere; yet, Christ Jesus Himself alone fulfilled what Israel failed to do because of their brand of racism!

But even Christ’s own disciples had to learn this lesson following Christ’s Ascension (Acts, Chapter 10).  Peter himself had to learn the lesson that God is no respecter of persons, which means that God does not show favoritism toward any culture, race or group (Acts 10:34-35).

Furthermore, sometimes we can actually allow ourselves a keen focus reflecting an egotistical tunnel that excludes from real value every person outside blood relations.  Family becomes the all-important group to embellish the ego--family-ism.  We see this attitude expressed through the justification of any family member’s ills or abuses based solely on the fact that such a person is family!  This disposition identifies us with the counterfeit of the Christian concept of family.

The New Testament makes explicitly and emphatically clear that through Christ we become sons and daughters of the King of kings and Lord of lords (Romans 8:16-17; Galatians 4:7; Matthew 5:45).  Thus, we are brothers and sisters within the church, the Body of Christ.  However, the great contrast with the world value system with respect to family and that of the church has to do with exclusivity.  While there can be no question that through the blood of Jesus which provided for us redemption we who have accepted Christ are exclusively His, but this does not mean that we look at the world at large with disdain and consign them to eternal damnation.  Within the Spirit of Jesus, we must see through our spiritual eyes a world of people who are potentially our brothers and sisters in Christ.  With that compassionate vision we seek to reach out to bring others into our family through the New Birth.

The counterfeit family structure of flesh-and-blood relationships remains exclusive.  The only way such a family can increase and expand must be through birth.  And, in reality, the church family may increase only through the New Birth, but such a New Birth can be received by anyone who accepts Christ and what Christ did for him at Calvary!

Nevertheless, the degeneration of family concepts into the family-ism expression finds continuity with the same fabric giving rise to racism or the caste system, for each finds underpinnings from C A P A R A, a coined acronym for Conceit, Arrogance, Pomposity, Audacity, Rebellion and Antagonism.  From one to all these vices can be the moving force behind racism, the caste system and family-ism, each rising from egomania growing from these CAPARA vices.  Hence, racism, the caste system and family-ism are all the outcropping of the same vices.

This very capara gives rise to the disposition that establishes racism, the caste system and family-ism and even extends to many other avenues of expression, such as feminism, abortion, radical Islamic terrorism, and the list goes on and on.  Everyone of these movements draws from the fire of conceit, arrogance, pomposity, audacity, rebellion and antagonism, and like fire, these elements will eventually consume each victim infested by that horrible, unrelenting flame in capara!  All these have a strong kinship to racism and the caste system.

FeminismThe thoughts of equitable, fair and unrestricted recognition and acceptance of women on a par with men cannot be dismissed as unworthy pursuits.  However, the fact that such pursuits become necessary for women’s rights reveals a flaw in our culture.  Indeed, some men’s attitudes reflected through macho superiority and intolerance of rightful women’s equality have been an element pushing many women toward the extreme feminist movement.

Moreover, every one of us needs to understand the serious nature of depriving others the rights we ourselves claim.  Every human being should belong to the human race, with all the rights, privileges and entitlements that every other human being enjoys.  Needless to say, these very same rights should, without question, be reflexively understood to be inherently present within each gender, male or female.  In other words, as concerning value no difference should be assigned based on gender, no more than there should be any differences assigned based on race, culture, etc.

Because many women have felt slighted within the job arena due to unwarranted discrimination, or have felt themselves bypassed within the home due to macho suppression, or have been unappreciated in other areas of contributions, the distinction between value and role has become blurred and many women find themselves confused and lost in a battle fueled by capara!

For instance, the natural role maternal instincts play in the normal life of almost every woman sometimes creates a conflict with the woman's ambitions to establish for herself a demand for the recognition of value as she would define for herself.  The role of motherhood must be rejected, because such can interfere with her progress up the corporate ladder or her professional involvement.  Thus, she demands the right to abortion.  Sometimes she climbs aboard the gay rights bandwagon to drive home her independent claims.  Thus, she has separated value from role!

Quite contrary to many such misconceptions, roles do not have to be identical to be equitable and just.  If such were the case, everybody should exercise the same role of a police officer or a dog catcher or a political dignitary or a factory worker.  Indeed not, for each role is different and every role serves a vital place within the structure and survivability of society.  Roles can be quite different and at the same time equitable in value.  Every person should be of equal value, irrespective of roles!  Hence, the roles of a father and a mother, a husband and a wife, a parent and a child should all be different in responsibilities but equal in value.  Each person’s dignity should demand respect, but each person’s role should be determined by his birth, his abilities, his position, his opportunities, etc.

Due to this confusion between value and role, some women have been driven off the deep end, becoming vicious, unrelenting opponents of human rights, especially with respect to the unborn child and abortion.  Many of these feminine rebels have become saturated by the very furnace of capara, bent on efforts that could lead toward the destruction of society and themselves.

Thus, the problems some of these feminists sought to remedy from the outset became lost in the ever-growing complexity given rise to by the maze of personal egotism, which supplanted God with self, as with original sin.  Because of fallen human nature, the gravity attracting feminists toward the abyss of confusion, darkness, conflict—and ultimately into captivity—wields unrealistic hope through illusions of an impending personal utopia, a secure plateau, a goal worthy of every effort and personal sacrifice to achieve.  But such a dream forever recedes, like a distant star in the black night sky, ever moving beyond reach as the traveler rushes along the highway in pursuit.  True, the promises remain in view, taunting the feminist to stretch beyond herself, to keep going, just a little further, on and on, but never quite in reach, never quite the satisfying moment to gloat, never quite the exhilaration of the finish, the recognition, the triumphant march in which all critics and skeptics must bow in surrender and acknowledge the victory.  A sad conclusion must sooner or latter overtake the most stubborn and persistently radical feminist activist; she will either succumb to defeat or withdraw into a boiling bitterness of hatred and disgust, buried in the slime of capara in an effort to destroy her opponents!

Sad to say, what starts in the cause of equity and justice for the rights of all women all too frequently has a tendency to slide into the slimy pit generated by egomania, the consequences of continuing original sin.  But we dare not categorically lump all feminist movements together, for there remain the exceptions, the anomalies, as the great Susan B. Anthony, the just, devoted promoter of women’s rights in the 1800’s demonstrates.  Found even during our modern era, some very special women fight for the rights of all women but vehemently renounce the culture of death and proclaim the right to life unapologetically!

While we would never single out even the most abrasive, detestable, obnoxious and flagrant of all feminist movements to zero our most hostile assault upon in the mean spirit of hatred, we would, on the other hand, express our deepest intolerance and total rejection of attitudes, behavior, and mindless murder of innocent, unborn children in the name of choice!  As we do bring our burden to bear upon these crimes against humanity, we do well to seek to rescue, not only the victims, but also the victimizers by the exercise of truth!  Some may never hear us and resist the truth with an anger that those malicious minds would wish it were possible to murder us also, but, thank God, some do hear and respond to join us in the battle against that deep darkness!

AbortionAnother aspect of this bigotry raises its ugly head in the same vein as racism, caste system, family-ism, feminism, etc.  Abortion fits within the scope of this self-centered mindset produced through original sin.  When self has been elevated above others, whether the male component, the boss who makes demands, or other symbols of authority, such as the police, or simply the child within the womb whom we can despise or blame as an intruder, we have expressed rebellion against God and His moral and spiritual laws.  (See abortion, hardcore abortion)

Indeed, the very same vices in capara which arouse racial prejudice, cause the resort to the caste system, give birth to family-ism and create feminism play prominently in abortion.

Just what are the reasons for abortion?

Many myths abound, but allow us to recount only three of them:

Many activists flimsily declare that such practice ensures women’s right of choice.  They even seek to create a strong fantasy that this so-called right resides in the Constitution of the United States.

First, no one is guaranteed a right that cannot be universally applied to all humans within the context of our democracy.  The unborn child must be denied any rights apart from what the mother decides for that child when right of choice demands the brutal torture and murder of that child.  Thus, the child's rights are denied by the trump of the mother's so-called right to chose when the child's life is forfeited!

Second, when the life or well being of the mother is at stake, abortion may be necessary to save the mother.  However, within our technologically advanced society abortion very rarely, if ever, becomes a necessary procedure to save the life of the mother.  Some would argue that the emotional well-being of the mother may be at stake.  In such cases, the mother may simply decide to place the child up for adoption as a far better alternative than outright murder.  Quite the contrary, mothers who have had abortions tend to be hounded with guilt, remorse and depression from psychological complications resulting from abortion.

Third, abortion has justification under the Constitution’s right to privacy.  Again, right to privacy does not have explicit constitutional support.  The Constitution of the United States does indeed guarantee freedom from intrusive invasion of peoples homes and lives without due process based on reasonable evidence.  Nevertheless, privacy has never legitimately been considered a safe haven to act with impunity in the commission of crimes and atrocities against society.  Should abortion clinics be consider a place to exercise a right to act in privacy to commit murder?  Certainly not!  No more than murder of guests committed in the privacy of a person's home should be considered legitimate.  Again, privacy should never be justifiable grounds for any criminal act!

There remain many other myths concerning abortion, but for further discussion on abortion, check our Abortion Page.

Radical Islamic terrorism:  It certainly demands noteworthiness that little gods feel unrestrained to express themselves in any fashion, irrespective of all the misery, torture, anguish and havoc their decisions inflect on countless others, even women and children, just in the fantasy of the hope that each will be rewarded in such repugnant, crass and lustful fulfillment of sexual orgies with seventy virgins as each one’s reward for an act of terror through suicide.  This very lewd delusion may well be expressed in the parable of the suicide bomber, realistically demonstrating how a dose of reality can shock the lustful religious fanatic when his reward turns out to be a rude awakening!

We need to pray for these sinful and deceived masses who are driven by such lust.  This self-centered trap into which they fall reflects perfectly original temptation and sin.

Analysis:  To break down elements to the central hub, we will inevitably discover that every manifestation of racism, the caste system, family-ism, feminism, abortion, radical Islamic terrorism, etc., share in the common predisposition of original sinThat is, each direction, whether through what we classify as racism or the caste system or any one of the other expressions reflects self-centeredness and elements of capara; indeed, self-centeredness finds a natural affinity with capara and natural directions for expressions through capara.

Of course, such a mindset forges darkness with any light which possibly sifts through the distortion of self-centeredness, self-interests, self-serving goals and the like.  Such residual glimmer of that light becomes tainted into a kind of poison that degenerates.  Death resides in the recesses of mental gymnastics which seek to justify the course and sacrifice the rights of others to support the delusion embraced, the delusion that moral and spiritual accountability finds little or no relevance within the decisions and actions settled upon.

Cure:  Is all then lost for such depraved individual persons?  The answer must echo with resounding certainty:  Absolutely!  No hope can arise from that desolate death trap.  No degree of study, mental revival, pursuit of answers and research can recover anyone caught within this trap of self-centered quagmire.  Then, the futility brings us to consign such people to eternal damnation!  Right?

Humanly speaking, that statement rings true.  But what is impossible for any person on earth is possible with God (Matthew 19:26).  Through the Holy Spirit one can find himself brought to an awareness of his own condition and helplessness.  That becomes the starting point to find that God can rescue.  God alone through Jesus Christ can bring Salvation.

Consequently, the Christian, the one who has died to self and all that pulls him toward capara, chooses to walk under the Holy Spirit’s transforming presence  That holy influence rescues him and brings him into lovable.life (an acronym coined to represent the antithesis of capara).  The nature of lovable.life can be understood by the significance of each letter:

Love—the character of Christian love far exceeds the connotation of the term love in our society—and in most all cultures, for that matter.  This kind of love, agape, the New Testament’s coined Greek term, speaks of a totally outgoing, self-giving love which always focuses upon what we can do for others regardless of the rewards or adverse consequences we may face.  This love asks in genuine concern and care what can I do to meet your needs? rather than what can you do to make me feel better and help me enjoy life?

We need to pray for these sinful and deceived masses who are driven by such lust.  This self-centered trap into which they fall reflects perfectly original temptation and sin.

Order—Christians understand the vital, inseparable link between love and order.  They desire to assure a society of stability and justice, of protection and security, of opportunities and goodwill.  They wish to establish the family based on family and Christian values, such that needs may be met and everyone can bond in love.

Vibrancy—a Christian can never be invulnerable to the ills of humanity, such as loneliness, distress, pain, grief and even physical death.  But genuine life undergirds and reveals purpose and direction through these mishaps, giving the true Christian undeniable recourse.  For this reason, even when vibrancy dims almost beyond awareness, there remain the hope and confidence in God that allows the radiant glow to crack the darkness with that glimmer of hope when no hope can otherwise be detected.

Authenticitygenuineness of devotion and expression fundamentally attest to the centrality of Christian character, the very heart of Christian orientation.

Beliefthe universe itself radiates the design of the Creator.  God has never left humanity without a true witness to His Light (Romans, chapters 1-3).  While the universe itself provides factual evidence to God’s prominence, the fact of God’s Presence reflected through His creation cannot give us an adequate window to reveal His Character.  Hence, we need revelation both through His Word, the Holy Bible, and through the Word made flesh, Jesus Christ.

Loyalty—for a Christian God’s amazing faithfulness toward us in that while we were yet in rebellion against Him, while we were vile sinners, while we hated our own Creator, God loved us and faithfully gave Himself for us through Jesus Christ.  Therefore, the loyalty of a Christian reflects his response to the faithfulness of his God.

Expendabilityone of the most demonstrable impacts Christianity has had upon this dark and belligerent world comes through self-giving, finding its most effective connection through sacrifice, first expressed by Christ Himself at Calvary and then through Christians who have willingly given themselves to become expendable for their LORD.  Genuine love can mean nothing in a vacuum, but it can create bonds beyond imagination through self-sacrifice.

<<<<<>>>>>

LearnerChristians have always been known as disciples.  They exhibit that earnest desire to know more and more.  This kind of student of our LORD seeks to know Christ Himself intimately, not merely facts about Him or facts about the Bible, though facts are indeed included.  They yearn for the personal relationship with their God.  For this reason they read the Scriptures, pray and seek to pursue investigations and research which unfold God’s very Presence and Reality to them.

Involvementone of the most distinguishing characteristics of the genuine Christian expression relates to involvement.  These true children of the living God cannot sit on the sidelines and keep silent.  They become salt and light into every avenue and aspect of society (Matthew 5:13-16).  The early church became actively involved in sharing the gospel.  They met opposition, but did not allow those troubling times to deter them (study the book of Acts).

Far-sightednesstrue Christians find themselves in the game for the long haul.  Instant gratification does not become a driving force within the scope of their commitment.  The book of Job reveals the underlying principles which guide the Christian life toward the distant shore of completion.  Patience must become the reliable pillow upon which to find renewal.

Endurancestaying the course when the clouds obscure the view measures the endurance of anyone.  This may be especially said of the Christian, whose sight focuses upon the distant land where God will ultimately bring him to rest eternally with Him.
